SHARED EDUCATION

Long Tower PS and Fountain PS have a long history of working together. The schools are situated very close to each other. Initially, the two schools came together in the EMU project in the early 1990s and focussed on developing a shared understanding of each other’s traditions and beliefs. Since then, the schools have worked on a range of projects, including Incredible Years Project, funded by the Integrated Education Fund and the Media Initiative for Children, Respecting Difference Programme. At present we are working on the Shared Education Project.

Staff and children from both schools have also worked on a variety of interface projects, organised by external partners, such as the Nerve Centre, Triax, Walled City Partnership, Verbal Arts Centre, etc.

Overall, both schools have worked together in many initiatives and strong relationships have been formed with staff and pupils.
